About Westmid Fans

WestMid Fans was formed in 1978, headed by MD Allan Jones and since then the company has become one of the largest independent distributors of fans for a wide range of applications from the leading fan manufacturers.

Allan set up the company with co director Mike Hampson and both had worked together in the fans industry for many years, setting up the company because they felt that consultants, specifiers and others would benefit from their technical and engineering expertise.

Time proved they were right and the business expanded rapidly, moving some years ago from its original 1,500sq ft warehouse to a prime site, more than six times the size, at nearby Mucklow Hill. From there, it distributes axial fans, twin fans and associated equipment across the whole of the UK. Mike Hampson retired in 1999, but Allan Jones is supported by a growing staff which includes his two sons, Simon and Timothy.

Allan insisted on only distributing top quality products and Westmid Fans became the First Independent Distributor for Fläkt Woods in the West Midlands. Additionally, Westmid Fans now represent other manufacturers, including Soler and Palau, Vent-Axia; Ziehl-Abegg, Xpelair and Helios.

Growth has seen WestMid Fans expand in other ways too, as the fan industry has evolved and changed, so has the company. It has always placed great reliance on combining a depth of technical understanding with detailed product knowledge, underpinned by solid training. From this base, it has developed a full design and acoustic advice service which is increasingly popular with mechanical and electrical contractors, consultants and local authority specifiers.

Allan believes the key to success is to offer great products, from the best manufacturers and back these up with experience and expertise, all at competitive prices. Also, an understanding of what the customer needs and always keeping your promises are the key business philosophies behind Westmid Fans.

Customer service is fundamental to Westmid Fans and some customers have been with the company for the whole 30 years, clearly that does not happen by accident.
